What’s your confusion in your job searching?
It’s time for me to tell you also myself clearly that what’s my problems and difficulties in searching a job.
Actually I am not very confident because the opinion roots in my mind, that the top companies hire the top students only, by the normal way. I don’t think I was top in the past four years. So when I faced the interviewer, I was somehow not myself, just act like somebody else---the top student.
Can I go to the top company?
I sent my resume to 7 top companies around, L’Oreal, P&G, J&J, Nivea, Arrow, Google, and Coca Cola. Only two of them ask me to the paper test. I think I fail in the resume. In the resume, I tried my best to describe what I’ve done in the past 4 years, and exaggerated the context. Consequently, It still didn’t work. Then I doubted that whether I am good or not, did I have a very bad experience in my college? I haven’t got any scholarship like the top 20 students, and I haven’t joined any technical competition in my area, what did I do in the past four years?
All above I wrote to tell you that I don’t know which company will give anther chances to this kind of person. No body wants to have a pool background person become his employee or partner. Then I found that I have to do something to prove I am excellent.
I don’t know what I want
And all I do goes forward to the object. What‘s my ideal area, what‘s my dreaming company and which position I should start from? My answer is that “I have no idea; I can not see it clearly”.
But luckily, I know that why I want to go to the top companies. First, they have systematic method to cultivate people. Second they are stably developing so that they can offer rather healthy environment to the new society-builder. Third, the companies already have their own culture which may affect a right person life-long.
I really don’t know which area and which position I should start from.
It seems that I want to do all the jobs which I can use my advantage fully. What am I good at? What should I need to get this work done?
My experience
I did sales before. First I go on the street to send the pass-by flies, and then I made phone-sales. It makes me sick when I have to think out every way to let others accept my company and the product. Basically, I don’t know the product and the company very well, why do I recommend others to accept it? So I can firmly say that I don’t want to do sales in the small company, or I can say it’s not the right company and right industry for me.
I went to Coca Cola for the second round interview but failed. I guess it’s because my immature diction, too proud or too self-satisfied.
I am not sure whether I am right or not, and there are no one can tell which way I should go. So at this time, I think I should slow down and listen to my heart.
